According to the interview with Xbox Wire, Bach says, ” …with Kinect, we’re looking into features that enhance the controls including peeking and leaning and tracking head movement…”.

DICE Executive Producer Patrick Bach, in a recent meeting with Xbox Wire, has made it clear that they have no intention of implementing “gimmick” controls into Battlefield 4.  However, they are still considering implementing the Kinect system as one of the Xbox features for the game.

According to the interview with Xbox WireBach says, ” …with Kinect, we’re looking into features that enhance the controls including peeking and leaning and tracking head movement…”.

What we could potentially be seeing here, with the new Xbox One, in particular, is a more unique experience with some of the core gameplay features making use of such technology.  In the past, movements such as leaning would have to be done using one of the many buttons on the controller.  If this implementation goes through, we could expect Battlefield 4 to have a more fluid and immersive FPS experience than competing FPS titles. Of course, this all depends on the quality of the execution of such an idea.  But, nevertheless, it may lead to other developers following suit.  And, with new technology in the making, such as the Oculus Rift, we have the potential for a very big shift in the way FPS games are played in the future.
